Upper West Side Duplex:
New York, New York
This duplex apartment in a grand 1907 apartment building underwent a major renovation. Within the unique two-story great room, a new custom wood mantel, panel moldings, and plaster crown were added. New black steel doors connect the great room to the family room. At the family room, new built-in bookshelves and a custom marble mantel are a focal point for the space. The existing stair off the great room was rebuilt with new oak steps, bronze spindles, and paneled storage below. At the upper level, bedrooms and bathrooms have custom millwork and luxurious finishes. Martin Brandwein worked with interior designer Michele Bitter on this project.
